MDX is dedicated to bringing improved mobility to Miami-Dade roadways and to YOU. MDX coordinates and cooperates with federal, state and local transportation partners such as:
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
FDOT and MDX are working to make traveling on Miami-Dade County's roadways safer and more efficient. FDOT and MDX are collaborating through several Joint Participation Agreements (JPA) (e.g. Central Boulevard and the SR 826/SR 836 interchange) that will alleviate congestion throughout the county.
Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
Together with the MPO, MDX is working to develop transportation planning solutions that will address future transportation concerns in Miami-Dade County. In conjunction with the MPO Long Range Transportation Plan, MDX developed a 20-year, $2.75 billion Master Transportation Plan to tackle transportation needs on its local expressways.
Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE)
FTE is part of the Florida Department of Transportation and it oversees a 460-mile system of limited-access toll highways. In addition, FTE is responsible for operation and management of the SunPass® Prepaid Toll Program.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP)
MDX and FHP work together to ensure the safety of everyone traveling on the MDX system. FHP is responsible for the law enforcement on MDX roadways.
Florida's 511 Traveler Information System
MDX together with FDOT are able to keep Miami-Dade County's drivers informed with real-time traffic conditions and lane closure information on all of South Florida's roadways.
