What happens to a driver who passes through a toll plaza without paying the proper toll?
A digital image of the cars license tag is recorded. Under Florida Law, this image can be used by the Authority to issue a Uniform Traffic Citation.
Chapter 316.1001 of the Florida Statute: Payment of toll on toll facilities required; penalties.--
A person may not use any toll facility without payment of tolls, except as provided in s. 338.155. Failure to pay a prescribed toll is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a moving violation under chapter 318.
