Gus Pego, P.E.

As District Six Secretary, Mr. Pego is responsible for the overall planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of the State Highway System in Miami Dade and Monroe Counties. A seasoned civil servant of 30 years with the Department of Transportation, he has served the community working through the ranks in positions of increasing levels of responsibility within the district's development and operations divisions. He currently serves as a board member of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Engineering Advisory Boards of both the University of Miami and Florida International University. Mr. Pego earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida.
